Summary Description
The Data Services Associate is responsible for engaging with client property teams to gather, enter, and maintain updated property level ESG (Environmental Social Governance) and utility(energy, water, and waste) data in appropriate databases. The role requires keen attention to detail while maintaining quality and productivity in data-related tasks. The Data Services Associate will work with different tools and databases to gather, organize, and interpret data. This position requires an aptitude to quickly learn new processes and effectively communicate.
This is a full-time, remote, and non-exempt position in the Dallas Fort Worth area as you are required to report to the office during onboarding and training, and periodically travel into the office for meetings, as needed.
Essential Job Functions / Job Duties and Responsibilities
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to:
Understanding and adhering to all company policies and procedures.
Track time on various project sand record the appropriate job codes and labor categories daily.
Support property onboarding and related ongoing ESG and utility data collection efforts.
Create, update, and maintain property data in internal databases on a regular basis.
Obtain and review building documentation to ensure it aligns with data provided by the property teams and follow-up as needed to obtain additional information and address questions.
Establish Portfolio Manager accounts and benchmark properties for property teams. Communicate with property teams and/or client third party data vendors to ensure the data is kept up-to-date and accurate. Follow up on data and timeliness issues.
Ensure utility data is up-to-date and accurate in ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® on a quarterly basis.
Distribute the annual property ESG surveys to property teams and follow up on incomplete information to collect ESG metrics.
Conduct whole building data analysis, evaluating opportunities to improve automated utility benchmarking for the client.
Provide internal and external trainings on ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® and internal processes.
Review internal reports to identify and correct data quality issues on a daily basis.
Maintain client documents, organized notes, and status of communication with property teams in the appropriate locations.
Monitor the client email inbox and contact property teams via phone as needed to answer questions associated with your responsibilities. Escalate issues to the internal client team as needed.
Support data collection process for annual data assurance.
Provide regular status updates to the appropriate ESG Program Manager. Escalate any ideas, opportunities for improvement, or suggestions you may have.
Perform all other duties as needed and assigned.

Knowledge with online collaboration and file sharing tools, such as SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
Ability to work in a primarily remote environment.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at once, as well as being able to prioritize projects/tasks to meet deadlines.
Competent to present to small groups.
Required Education and/or Experience
Some professional work experience.
Some experience with data collection and data entry tasks.
Some experience with organizational tools.
Some experience with presentations.
Experience successfully working in a full-time remote position.
Experience with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager a plus, but not required.
Experience with utility data a plus, but not required.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
